MY STORY

I was born on August 19th of 1990 in the city of Coruña, where ever since I was a little girl I started to practice different sports, a passion that I am still enjoying with the same illusion as the first day.

At the age of 8, I started my first steps in the world of sailing where I began training in multiple disciplines in the Optimist Class. In 2008, Women’s Match Race became an olympic discipline, and I had a chance to start training with Tamara Echegoyen.  After a year Angela Pumariega would join us.

In 2010, we became part of the Spanish Olympic Team, winning the National Championship and the Iberoamerican Championship. A year later, we consolidated and improved by winning the National Championship for a second time as well the European Championship. Our successes continued when in April 2012 we classified for the Olympic Games in London, after a difficult selection process.

Winning the Olympic Games in London 2012 is the greatest moment I have lived as a sportswoman and this experience will stay with me the rest of my life. It is the culmination of 4 years of hard teamwork, and a whole life loving sports.

A year after the Olympics I got to proclaim myself World Champion in Match Race, next to Eva Gonzalez, Lara Cacabelos, Mariana Lobato and, of course, Tamara Echegoyen. For Tamara and I, this was the last title we had yet to win in our discipline.

In that same year, I started a new and passionate project in the 470 class, looking for the opportunity to compete in Rio 2016 with our main goal to compete in Tokyo 2020.
